Adonis Akl (born in 1960 in Ashrafieh , Lebanon) is a Lebanese singer / songwriter and composer . His love of music was the main driving force behind his choice of “Musicology” as a major at the Holy Spirit University - Kaslik .
Adonis Akl had a very successful musical career. His first album called "Shiki Baba" was released in 1980. All the songs of this album were written and composed by Adonis himself and produced by Dr Wilson Rizk.
In 1983, Elias Rahbani produced his second album entitled "Mesh Ader".
In 1988, Adonis released "Khedi El Rasayel", his 3rd and last album before leaving Lebanon. This album won the Gold Record Awards. All the songs were composed by Samir Sfeir.
The Lebanese war was the main reason behind the immigration of Adonis Akl to Egypt, where he founded his own musical band, along with a Lebanese Dabke team in which participated some of the former ‘Miss Lebanon’ like Jacqueline Khoury, Eliane Khoury , and Yolla Nassar ...
Next, and after commuting between the Arab and Occidental countries with Live performances with his Lebanese Dabke Band, Adonis managed to have a huge impact due to his distinctive and romantic songs and voice.
In 2012, Adonis Akl was back in his home country Lebanon. He was also back in the Studios to work on a new CD. His latest offering "Ta3i Halla2" written and composed by Adonis is the 1st single lifted from that new Album, and managed to get to #1 on The Official Lebanese Top 20.
